Fellow Members of ASGS,
Welcome to your new web site. This project represents the first in a series of evolving efforts to better serve you, the General Surgeon specialist. This organization continues to change to meet the dynamic needs of our community. Part of that process required the long overdue redesign of the website. We are not done and petition you for input to make YOUR WEBSITE better.
With an improved social media platform and easier interface we hope to evolve into a site that will provoke both your interest and participation as we explore the topics and “hot button” issues that relate to your practice. When our board of directors or someone in our membership alerts us to an issue of importance to our membership we will be able to tweet it, post it, blog it and email it rapidly.
The ASGS is active in the issues of CPT, RUC, CMS, and hospital credentialing. Our efforts and policy statements help mold the opinions of payers, politicians and hospital administrators. These statements and efforts will now be easily available for your review on the web site.
Educational opportunities, meetings schedules and industry information relevant to the General Surgeon will be made available in a format that will be easy to access. If you have something that you feel needs to be posted, just send it to us.
One of the unique aspects of the website will be the ability for our membership and nonmembers to post job opportunities relevant to a surgical practice. If you are looking for a new surgeon, nurse, physician assistant or office administrator you will be able to present it to our audience of surgeons and interested parties.
In response to direct member input, we have streamlined the ability to pay dues and fees online in a secure manner. We also have developed the ability for you to adjust your contact info so that we can always reach you. Be assured your information will only be utilized by the ASGS and not third parties. We don’t sell insurance policies!
This is your website. It has been designed in a way that we can quickly expand and adjust it to meet the needs of our membership. Please let us know what we can do to make this your first stop for information while you are waiting for your room to “turn over”.
